I pulled into a walgreens pharmacy to purchase a bottle of cold water and visit the washroom, its South Florida hot weather time.

After my pit stop, I jump back into the Bimmer and pull out of my space, when I hear this awful sound from the front of my car, yes it's my bumper being pulled off.

One of the metal rebar spikes that hold the parking bumpers to the ground was sticking up about 6" and It just ripped the front spoiler and bumper out, shit was I pissed.

I go into the store fetch the manager and show him what just happened, the guy was really sympathetic and when I explained that I just visited his store to use the facilities and purchase a bottle of water, this guy says" Wow thats an expensive bottle of water" I have a sense of humor and had to laugh. Oh well the car was still driveable, but it's getting fixed Monday, I can't look at her this way.

Walgreens Insurance might pay they will let me know in a few weeks, either way I'm not calling my insurance for this, just another expensive day of driving. Whats amazing is I never heard that spike hit the bottom of the car. Bummer

Ouch is right. Sorry to hear that. I don't even like parking on the street.

I'll definitely keep my eyes open for errant parking blocks for now on. Sorry to hear about your misfortune. Maybe Walgreen will let you have your next bottle of water on the house.

Wait so what happened? you pulled into the parking space and the bumper got caught alreay? and then when you reversed it ripped it out?

Otherwise how did it get stuck into your bumper between the time you got the water and leaving?

Double ouch! I?m truly sorry for you. It used to happen all the time on my M5 ? until I got VERY careful.

Such front end attack dogs are one reason I have no desire to put an M-tech front end on my new baby ? despite how neat it would look.

Best of luck with your insurance!

That's the problem with the sport package. You really have to be vigilant when pulling in.

Make sure to take a photo of the metal spikes that caused it in case they fix it and you need evidence...
