So earlier today, I contacted the dealership that CARFAX indicates performed the majority of the work on the vehicle. The first person I talked to could not help me so I was directed to the assistant service manager who flat out told me that he could not give it to me nor the Acura dealership that the vehicle is at due to "California's privacy laws" and that if he gave them to me, it would make me an identity thief. Are you all aware of anyone that has got the service history but is not yet the owner of the vehicle?

I understand your interest. I just picked up an 08 space grey metallic, with sport package, sunroof, black dakota interior with 43k miles and CPO for $26,900. So far I enjoy the car alot. I have noticed some noise when turning the wheel and not on the gas. sounds like a whurring noise from rack and pinion. I am familiar with the noise racks make when the wheel is fully cut , however this is intermitten and without fully turning the wheel. Sorry did not want to hijack your thread. I was getting to the fact that since its CPO , its still covered. If it meets your needs, looks well cared for and the price is right then go for it. Also , find a good indy shop for service and you will be fine.

So the vehicles that I was considering were sold before I could actually go take a look at them and at this point, there's not any 535s in Texas that have the options that I want. Because of that, I decided to look at the 550s. There's a few here in Texas with the options that I want but I've been told by numerous indie BMW shops that I have contacted asking about inspecting the vehicles that the 535s are going to be more reliable in the long run. This seems to be contrary to what is generally said in the forums.

good luck with your car search. Here is a site that will give you a complete build sheet for the car, all you need is the last 7 characters of the VIN:

KLR, I am glad that you are enjoying your 550. I am looking at vehicles with about 70,000 miles but I am going to purchase a warranty just in case those oil leaks crop up. How do you like carbon black? I'm looking at one vehicle in particular and that is the color of it.
Kyle, thanks for the link.
