Yes I have a 08 and used the I Drive in 09 loaners. The 09 has more buttons but still the same software.

Ok I think I may have been incorrect if there's a big difference in 2009 vs 2010. It seems the 2010 has the completely redesigned iDrive. I thought it came with LCI but I guess it was just with 2010+? I was comparing my 2010 iDrive with a 2008 535xi I had driven and though the changes started in 2009. The menus, screen, hard drive usage, speed, searching, etc is all completely different and worlds better in my car. If that's new in 2010 and not 2009 then perhaps not much of a difference between 08 and 09.

2010 models have an updated idrive screen vs 08 and 09 models....'10 models have dvd movie capability as well...
