I have the same reaction with respect to the mirrors on the 550i Sport. For $70K plus, BMW should have slapped on sportier looking mirrors. I suppose that's why a number of our members have spent big bucks swapping out the plain jane mirrors in their non M5 E60s with M5 side mirrors.
But there is always room for improvement.

^^^+10000 - if it's that important to you just paint your trim gloss black, like I did, or contact Gary and order a set - it's about $800 BTW. Let's quit the whining, if you want the features of the M5 - get the M5, until then quit complaining.

My Ride: I have an 05 545i. It's a manual with a few options. This is my first BMW but I don't know how I'll ever be able to switch to something else.

pjinca's got the right idea, just DIY if it bothers you THAT much.
I didn't like my chrome grills, and I sure as hell didn't want to pay $65 for new ones, so I spent $15 on paint and few hours later I had me some great looking satin black grills at a fraction of the price.

GEEZ ok, ok I'll shut up about it. Bimmers are all about the engine/handling anyway and on that front there are NO complaints.
Besides, you can also be like me, if you want the look of the M5 and the performance - set that as the goal for the next car (that's mine
