I just brought a 2008 535xi CPO. It has 18 inch 5 star rims pretty plain with RFT's. The car also has a spare tire. I have read so many conflicting articles on line. My question is does anyone know if RFT's were standard in 08? Does anyone know what wheel style options were available as standard in 08? I know there's the library page here but, it doesn't have my wheels.

The dealer told me there the sport wheels but, I don't have the sport package. I'm just confused at this point. Where the standard wheels 17 or 18's? Could you order sport wheels and possibly not do sport package? Sorry I know it's a lot of questions but I do appreciate any insight you may have.

The 2008 535xi came standard with 17" wheels according to edmunds.com. RFT were not standard, only if you have sport package. The previous owner most likely put on those wheels himself after he bought the car. No need to be confused.

Anybody can put any wheel they like on their car. You don't necessarily need to buy the entire sports package just to get those rims and tires.

If not optioned up in production many dealers will switch out (sell) BMW wheel and tire set-ups on new cars - it's a huge profit item. And yes, non-RFT 17" were standard on the 08 535xi. As an FYI, even though ,y '07 530xi had the sport option with UHP Summer RFTs it also had the spare tire & tools - it was an "option" on the factory build sheet.

Check out the factory set-ups for wheels and tires starting here: http://www.realoem.c...120&hg=36&fg=15

Made a mistake. I don't have 18's there actually 17's, I have style 243 wheels with RFT's.
