If I am not mistaken, that code refers to valvetronic eccentric shaft sensor. Part labeled #6 in the diagram below.

that's what it sounds like to me too. Perhaps you can change yourself or an Indy can do it. Stealer will be costly...

Thanks, I went to the dealer earlier and that's what they told me it was. One of the dealers charges me 1700 for replacing the sensor, and the other charges me 2500. I rather change it myself, does anyone know of any websites or links that can guide me through the process. I greatly appreciate your help. Where would be the best place to buy the part.

Updating.
I pick up the parts at the dealer this morning and my and a relative replaced the eccentric shaft sensor and its gasket and valve cover gasket too.
We did it in about 3 hours and I only spent about $680.00 incluiding the $145.00 from the dealer diagnostic, Car is back to normal and I have the pride to say that I helped in the repair.
Also thanks to some DIY videos that I found online.

Here are the links that helped me in replacing the eccentric shaft sensor hope it helps someone.

This next video is listed as valve cover replacement but it is actually for the eccentric shaft sensor replacement too.

I am looking to do the same repair on my 2008 528i w/ 106k. I found the sensor itself but am having trouble locating the sensor gasket and valve cover gasket. Anyone have part numbers?
