My Ride: 2007 550i Titanium Silver, Black interior, winter pkg, premium sound, retractable shades, auto, split seats, sirius radio, sport pkg, navigation, CCM
Last fall I got into a beautiful 550i after having been in a S80 for a few months. Actually, for some reason I moved from my '04 545i to an '07 Volvo S80 sometime last summer. Thought I'd be getting into something a bit more comfortable and the SO said she like the rided and all that good stuff. So I was really okay with this until I owned the S80 for about 3 months and realized just how much of a boring auto I had on my hands. I don't mean that in a bad way but when compared to driving a 5-series, well okay, it was boring. Nice ride, comfortable and all that and really a good car for the right person. Wanting to drive a Bimmer again I test drove the 528i or the xi and thought, wow, this handles just great. Wasn't sure what I was going to do because these kind of things can get expensive if you just keep changing vehicles. Went back to the dealership once or twice and decided I wanted to drive a 550i they had there. I looked at 2 but only one had the sport pkg so no need to drive the other. Anyway, I decided to purchase the silver 550i and when we get some decent weather, I'll take additional pics. I will not mode this auto, just not my style. Anyway, my experience is the 550i it a bit tighter than the 545i was, a bit quieter, a bit more comfortable (20way seats) and overall a better experience for me. I didn't have the sports pkg before but I don't think the ride is at all harsh with it, quite good actually. Anyway, it really is the best I've ever driven and I'm extremely pleased that I made the move.
As always, I enjoy the forum.

My Ride: 545i/6
I know the feeling. I traded in my 540i summer of 08 for an acura tl, had that lame duck until last wednesday when I just flat out could not take it anymore and traded it in on a 545i/6. Granted I traded the 540i in for the wife at the time, but needless to say I ended up with the acura shortly after and absolutely hated life driving that thing. Im surprised I made it as long as I did. Its good to be back and congrats on your purchase!

Congrats!!! It's truly a great car. The sports package is a must.
It's odd but sometimes you have to drive others cars to appreciate how good the BMW really is.
I'm lucky I as travel often and drive rental cars. Image driving a Malibu for four days and hopping back into the 550.
I always remember my first drive in the 5er and how thrilling it was feeling the lovely steering coming from front wheel drive cars. It was eerie good and even my wife as a passenger felt the sensation.
