While your at it drop the valve body and replace the bridge seal and the mech sleeve.

Smart of you to get the oil analyzed...nothing like hard data to make decisions from. Being a long time BMW owner (E39 530i and now E60 530i like yours) I would caution against transmission fluid changes and especially a flush. I think I made the wrong decision and had my E39's replaced at 100K. 2K miles later I needed a new transmission. Flushing will push filter particles into nooks and crannies and block passages.

Well after having gone back and forth whether to service the transmission or not, I finally decided on members recommendations here that the fluid change was in order,
With 125,000 highway miles, I started feeling the transmission was after all not as smooth as it once used to be. The over drive gear had started jerking from time to time.
Today, my trusted Indy mechanic drained and replaced the transmission fluid.
I am happy and relieved to say, once again, the car feels and drives as it used to be.
Please find attached a picture of the fluids (current and the new one)

Yes, changing your fluid is a must on these cars. As a lot of people know there is NO such thing as lifetime fluid. If you plan on keeping the car change it every 50K-60K miles.
good call, I bought a 2006 530xi with 160k. I now consider this to have been a neglected car. Just the same, i changed the sparkplugs to OEM (via realoem.com and amazon) Had the electric waterpump and thermostat replaced, had the trans drained and filled with new gasket but not filter/pan. My indy BMW mechanic said that the "filter basically amounts to a screen, and if it's clogged, you've got bigger issues." The drain and fill did make it significantly smoother.
I/everyone in 6 figure mileage needs to replace oil filter housing gasket. There is a diy, or it's a $30 part with 3 hours of labor to do.
I only did the one coil that failed, Power steering fluid is EASY and CHEAP on amazon CHS 11S in like $18, use a turkey baster, replace the reservoir once a week until you're out of fluid.
Brake fluid is important. Resist temptation to use wally world fluid. ATE TYP 200, or at least Pentosin DOT4 would be appropriate.
Finally engine oil is obvious but meaningful. I really like Castrol Syntec Edge 0W40 European Blend. It ran noticeably better when i switched to this vs. the jiify-mart special that was in it when i bought her. Capacity is 6.5 qts, and it's on amazon for $22.
