well ... this is my excitement of the day/week/month

Concrete Truck ran a red light speeding ... and then there was me & my little compared to the truck ... 530i ... and of course we all know who won that match.

after 3 hours in the ER ... i'm alright. wrist is sprained, headache ... sore as shit ... can't wait for tomorrow ... car is at the body shop ....
I'll go down there later & take some more detailed pics of the car .. close ups.

here we go .. $63,000 of german engeneering at its best. all airbags deployed on the drivers side ... which was hit.

enjoy.

I wish you're OK, man. I'm sure you're going to have a brand new E60 because there's nothing body shop can do with E60 damage like this. Insurance will write off for a new car as suggested by dealer.

Glad you're OK. Damn shame about the 530 although I would hate to think what the outcome would have been like if you were in a non-German car.

I would be shocked if they total the car.

It's worth $62,000. The only way the insurance company will total it is if it will cost more than $62,000 to fix it. And it won't. They will fix it. Most of the damage is behind the c-pillar, meaning the bulk of the electronics and the engine are intact. That's where the cost is.

Thanks all.

I'm not worried about the car .. it will either get fixed or ... totalled ... either way ... that will work itself out.

I'm just glad to be alife. If i would've hesitated or maybe traction control wouldn't have kicked in while accelerating ... the concrete truck would've MOST DEFINATIVELY T-BONED me ... in which case even this car would have NOT proected me.

I have lots of friends & aquintanced that have their project cars ... and they love to work on them & then pride them around. I'd love to do the same ... and I would alos love to have a lower car payment ... but there is one thing that I've always said ...
YOU PAY FOR YOUR LEVEL OF SECURITY & SAFETY.

1 friend got T-BONED in his scirocco by a dodge durango ... he was in a coma, in ICU for weeks .. barely made it though. (can't find the pics right now)

Especially now, after Katrina, we can all realize how lucky we are every day.? I hope you do not have any permanent health issues as a result of this horrific accident.? I know you must have been horrified.? Do you remember it , or did it happen so fast you didn't have time to think about what was going on ?? Bottom line the car is replacable, - you are not !? Thanks for sharing.

i doubt it too - i thought total is 80% of higher of value? ... either way .. i highly doubt that it will get totalled ... eventhough there supposedly are buckles in the roof ... i will find out later this afternoon.
gotta hitchhike to the body shop .. lol .. nobody wants to let me borrow their car ...
