With the start of the cold weather recently I've noticed that my 550i (~58k miles) has been hesitating in low gear at low speed until fully warmed up. Feels like it might not be getting the appropriate air/fuel mixture. Anyone else experience similar behavior or have thoughts on remediating the problem? I need to take it in for the 60k service shortly.

Manual transmission right? Are you running 91 octane gas at all times?

Yep, 6sp manual, consistently 91 octane or better.

Change your plugs recently, if ever?

Last air filter change?

MAF sensor checked?

I'd start there.
60k scope should sniff the problem if you bring it up to them.

All std services have been performed. I've changed the oil/filter at interim 7500 mile intervals. Will see what turns up at the 60k service.

If it only happens when cold and returns to normal when warmed up, I would not worry. Just drive it gently during warmup...

I might be inclined to do that however it's fairly disconcerting when the car starts to buck in 1st/2nd gear at lower RPM (~2k). Obviously, I don't really want to rev the engine to higher rpm unnecessarily until it's warmed up.

Thanks all for the feedback.
