I think I sat in my new pre-owned 06 530 for over and hour trying to figure out how to get my nav in full screen mode and there just doesn't appear to be any way to do that. I pushed and thumped and pressed the I-drive knob every which way but nada. I looked in the manual and it doesnt even address the display except to set the perspective of the map itself. Does anyone have any idea how to set it full screen....er don't tell me PLEASE that the nav only occupies half of the screen! What a totally moronic design flaw that would be.

Also, anyone know where one can get system upgrades without paying BMW money?

 

The right side of the Nav screen is called, The ASSISTANCE WINDOW. The fastest/easiest way to activate is via "voice". Do this.... press the voice icon button, wait for the voice icon to appear then say, "
1) assistance window perspective view
2) assistance window arrow display
3) assistance window direction of travel

Give that a try.

 

You can't have full screen nav.
