Default 05 e60 CCC replacement question

So my 05 530 ccc is no good (constantly rebooting itself) occasionally it will function, but the radio will not put out any sound. This may be another problem, but first the CCC unit- I was able to find one out of an 08 E9x at the u-pull yard. It was cheap enough and the car had been brought in recently so I thought hey, I値l give it a shot. I hooked everything up in my 530 and it fired right up although still, no audio. My question is, would that be why I知 not getting any audio? Should I just sack up and spend the money for one that came out of similar year/model? Is the signal being sent out from the 08 just plain different than my 05? I realize the nav and all that wasn稚 introduced yet (I believe. Which actually did show up on screen as well during my test run.) is it something I could code in to Work possibly, or could my no audio issue be coming from the factory amp or else where? This is my first 5 series after owning multiple 3 series so just hoping I could get this issue sorted out. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks in advance and if this post is not allowed here I apologize, as I知 new to the forum and still navigating around!

You need to identify what module is preventing you from getting sound. You do this by inserting a loop in the MOST. You can purchase MOST loops on Amazon. Once the sound comes back you've found your problem.

If you have a CCC make sure it's one manufactured by 09/2008 in the E90. If it's not then you're opening up another can of worms you're probably not equipped for. The original CCC you should be installing unless you want to retrofit a newer one.

so if I purchase the MOST loop, exactly what will I be expecting as far as knowing where the problem lies? Don稚 mean to sound naive, but quite honestly I am to this topic. In my other 3 series I致e never had IDRIVE or a faulty radio haha this is the first time I致e had to tackle IDRIVE and/or CCC issues. I also very much appreciate the response! Gonna dive into some homework on the MOST loop I suppose!

also, this was the unit i picked up.. dates (or so I think they are) seem to be 07?

I was going to swap the face plate to my old unit as I found someone online who had the constant reboot issue and simply swapped that out and it seemed to have fixed it, but it was opposite in my case. It returned to not working.

you dont get audio as its not programmed i had to switch my ccc unit in e60 2008 and it would power up but wouldnt produce sound. look for who ever could program it to the same unit as it was before or else it wont work
