Does anyone know where I can buy a set of replacement struts for my 545? Did a quick google search,but didn't find anything. Trying to avoid the dealer. Thanks

On the e60 I dont believe there is a strut, at least on my 545i. It lifts with spring tension. The spring is behind the panel in the driver side of the trunk. Remove the panel and you will see it.. and you can actually set the tension of it. My trunk flew open so I took it down a notch.. Youll see

Now the hood uses struts..that is true

Thanks for the help guys! I looked at the drivers side and you were correct about no strut and adjustment. Decided to check the passenger side and it was different. There was a spring but it had a dampened running thru it. Got one on order and looks to be an easy install. Thanks again
