welcome aboard, mclc26 ! sorry to hear your story but glad to hear you are still happy with your dealer . however, you have another option if you are not happy with them, get another one. theorically, your new car isn't new anymore after all the parts changing <_<. why not ask for a new one? they still have to either give you a better offer or give you all the freebies.

I would ask for another car. You didn't pay your well earned money for a car that isn't working. You even never drove it. I wouldn't accept the car anymore and get another one. Before you know it your past will repeat itself and you experience will be the same as with your 540.

For the other members. I am surprised by the problems that 545 owners have. The 530 owners havent got many problems with their engine. Do others think it has to do by the fact that the 3.0 inline 6 is already a few years in production and bugs are worked out?

But isnt the 545 engine the same as the 745 engine? its been out a few years... the bugs surely should have been worked out.

As far as VIN specific parts are concerned I think that Rudy is correct. The DME recall which had many new owners stranded for 3-4 weeks was VIN specific. I have had my ride for about 10 days without a problem. No doubt the best car I've ever riden in or drove. Some people would have you ask for another car - I guess it can't hurt. IF (big if) they give it to you it will probably take at least 3-4 weeks to find an identical or acceptable 545. With so much technology things are bound to break. Given that if you dealer told you it would be fixed in 8 days its more likely to be 16. Sorry

Should have never signed and paid for a car that wasn't right. That made it your problem. If you would have been willing to walk away it would have stayed their problem and you would have been amazed how quickly the car was fixed or they found you another one.

If it was me I would order a new car (no ifs or whats about it).
This is not a good start to begin with and who knows what will follow.

If it's a lease, then ignore above comments.

I would not accept a car that had problems before I even drove it. I would not be compassionate at all. Period.

Not even if it was a Kia.

"Replace what? I don't think so. I'd like a new car that doesn't have to have the throttle body replaced. Thanks!"
