Hi guys, I am very glad I found this forum. I am in the process of buying a 545, I
found an '04 with less than 30 miles (new) from a dealer about 45 min. away from me. It has the sports package, premium sound, auto, shade, and xenon. They started asking over $61,000, they just call me back with a "final" offer of $56,945. Do you think this is a good deal?, any reason to go with an 05 over an 04? thanks for your input.

Make them update the software to get bluetooth working. That is one key difference between 04 and 05 (people have paid up to $800 to get this working). Other 05 differences were lumbar and PDC standard with the 545. More wood - replaced plastic - in the interior - center portion and rear.

The total value added from these things is less than $1000 - IMO. Lumbar is included with sport package anyway.

The price of $56,945 is really really a good deal. But its still a 2004. Its up to your decision.

Where are you located, Rafael? It helps if you input your location in your profile.

If you checkout edmunds.com or kbb.com, you can figure out what to pay for the 04.

Maybe you can call another dealer to find out what price you can get on an '05 with the same options. Autobytel.com has a good service for this or if you search for "Rizzo" on the forum you'll discover another method for pricing your offer.

Good luck.

Don't forget the '04 has 1 year's depreciation built in so when you drive off the lot you'll be working on the 2nd years depreciation. With the price they gave you it's $3k lower than their original price. I would offer them about $52k (and have them throw in the updated interior wood pieces including the gear shift knob & ebrake, blue tooth and pdc-dealer added) if you want to go with the 'o4. $3k off is too little.

I agree with Jimbo. The depretiation is much more than the discount they are offering you. That is one of the other reasons, I waited and ordered a 2005. I know I paid more for it, but I don't have the depreciation to wory about, especially on a lease.

hi and welcome,

since I see that you will be purchasing not leasing, you should also consider that the MY '06 E60's will have some exterior change as well as some structural changes, so as hard as it is, Im waiting on them as I will also be buying and I couldnt bear to buy the car when there will be something that is noticably different for '06

Welcome aboard!
Yes, 545 is a fantastic car to worth own it. As others said, it is your decision either depreciation, 05, or 06 model. Good luck.
