Can the 2004 BMW E60 be programmed for MP3 playback? Not sure of the Build date. My local BMW Dealer said he's pretty sure the 04's cannot be done.

if you have nav, yes it can (tell your dealer to go to the retrofit section of progman and select MP3. Most of them confuse it with aux or ipod). if you don't have nav, not sure.

I have a document somewhere that states that all e60s from start of production can have the MP3 retrofit. This wasn't the case for quite a while. I'll try to dig it out later.

I know of some members on here who've had their 04 MY ugraded, so as long as you have Nav (which I know you do ) you should be good to go!

Plus here's the service bulletin you need, as you can see is say "SOP" that means start of production.

If Advantage BMW wont do it for you try Momentum BMW, as I know a couple of folks who work there.

I don't have nav on my 2004 530i, anyone know if it can be reprogrammed?

Wish I had the nav so I can have the MP3 programmed... I guess I'm going the AUX route

My previouse 525i, didn't have nav, build date 09/04. I got MP3 working and AUX working just fine.
