My 2004 545i Check Engine light and Increased Emissions warning came on this weekend. 98k miles. Had the code read P2404 Evap circuit? There is not much info out there on this particular code. I checked the Gas Cap, car runs fine. Cleared the code, I guess I will wait and see what developes. Has anyone had the same code? Thanks in advance. Adam

Where in NY are you located ? It could be the purge valve/fuel tank breather , crank case vent valves (one left and one right on top of valve cover , cracked evap hose could be anywhere , or numerous other things ??? It will have to be tracked down . Good luck

Where are you located in New York ? I have this same problem. took it to my Indy an it cost me $ 180 bucks to fix . It's a senser behind the motor . I ask you where in New York in are located cause if we ain't that far I can show you personally so that you could have a better idea . Would it down grade your performance in your car no it won't . Car will run the same with no problem . You can erase the check engine light but it will come back on the same day .

Thanks guys, I'm located in Long Island. So far, the code was cleared and I have approx. 50 miles driven, no light yet. I will pop the covers off and check for any dry deteriorated hoses etc. However, if it requires a lift or anything too involved. I will get some help. Thanks for the input.
