Would this be worldwide? We might buy an 05 E60, would I just be able to take it to a dealer and get it done with out a letter?

I was wondering the same thing. I am sure I wont get a letter as I wasnt the original owner, although I just bought it through the BMW dealership so maybe they have me in the database. If not can you just call any BMW dealership and tell them that you have a 2004 e60 I wonder?

You don't have to be the origianl owner. You can call BMW NA, North America, and update the owner information to you. That's what I did and I received a letter. There are tons of posts about this issue, I posted a copy of my letter in the post that is 3 pages long...

Took mine in before I received the letter (thanks to this board)
I did get the letter two days after I had it fixed.

My SA told me it takes 5hrs to program all the computers.

It is a free fix, find a BMW Dealer and take it in

Thanks for letting us know! I never got a letter, but I'm taking my car in tomorrow for an oil change. I can't wait around so they are giving me a loaner. Hopefully, they can address this recall also. Thanks again!
