Dear forum members,

I drive a E39 523i. Two years ago I changed the front shock absorbers which cost me about USD350. After that I've driven about 6,000km, and now when driving at low speed on slightly uneven surface, I hear a strange rattling noise from the front as if something has weakened there. I think that it's the front shock absorbers again. As far as I know this is the biggest defect of the E39. And it makes me crazy, because a car of this class shouldn't be of such low quality. And I've used my car with great care trying not to drive it through pot holes.
Any info on this would be highly appreciated.
