I'm assuming you can see my BMW description in the profile. I'd like to change out the power steering (PS) fluid on a 2003 E39 engine. Noticed the PS cap says "Use ATF only." Visited the store and found two ATF types (Castrol, see below). Not sure which one is correct. Current fluid is red and smells "used," but is up to the proper level and no visible leaks. Not time sensitive to replace, just want to do it for ease of mind. I have read online that Dexron III is a requirement for this type of vehicle.
1. Which would you recommend (if either fits the requirement).
2. If neither is recommended, what brand is good for my BMW?
Thank you in advance!
Note: I did notice the Ford / Chrysler brand statement in the product description.
