If your lips lost its shine, this is definitely the way to go without paying $$$$ for a shop to essentially do the same thing. It's a cool but time intensive project.

Awsome job dude! I have to do this to mine soon. Couple of questions:

1. How long did you not clean your wheels to get them in that shape before the DIY? Not to be a smartass or anything, it's just that I haven't polished mine since I got them 6 months ago.

2. For planning sake, how long did it take you to do one wheel?

3. I'm assuming you did the work all by hand correct? I'm planning to try using a Mother's PowerBall when it's time to polish.

Edit: "5. About 1-2 hours of time per wheel"

Great look! Unfortunately this will not last forever. Problem is that you removed the clear coating and now your metal is exposed to the elements and you have to keep it up very often as you did not reapply any coating to it. The pitting was on the clear, not the metal itself! This process is no different than restoring headlight, BMW brake dust sucks!
