want to DIY trunk lid switch

Hi Guys,
Anyone out there that can help me on this?
my e60 2004 does not have a trunk switch in the cabin. I want to DIY a switch so i can open my trunk without coming out from the car. Any one have ideas?

In the early EU models that switch was missing. There is a DIY on this forum somewhere.

You have to have the key out of the ignition before the button will work. Not so good if you want to keep the engine running.
I started a thread on this subject a couple of years ago, after having done it myself.
It's a pretty easy job if you're confident removing trim and splitting multi-way electrical plugs.

In Europe, we didn't get the boot release until 2005, unless you bought an E61.
The switches can be purchased in black, or black, or black.
