My Ride: May 2008 530D "M" package Exclusive line.
Default

Hi everybody,
I need your opinion...
My 525D (Feb 2007) was delivered with (wath concerns this topic) Bluetooth, handfree phone, navpro.
I decided to upgrade with the voice control system.
So I Installed a new "menu/voice" controler on the central console, fitted the extra connection btw this controler and the I-Drive (respectively plug 2 on X14099 & 6 on X10387).
In the owner's manual, they say that the front roof panel mike (there is only one) is also used for the voice control.
Now my questions:

- Do I need anyway to connect the voice control harness (btw CCC and a second mike in this case) ?
- Does the handfree phone actual wiring supports the functionality and therefore no need to install the previous one ?
- Can a software upgrade "activate" the option (the car is foreseen to be completely reprogrammed thursday for another problem) ?

Thanks in advance for your imputs...

Etienne

You will need two mics (should have got the 2nd mic in the Voice Input retrofit kit) and the a full software upgrade. The BMW system is not plug and play or auto detect. It basically installs new devices only if its asked to look for them.

I effectively got a mic with the retrofit kit, but according the manual, I though it was for cars not phone equiped...

Anyway, thanks for the answer
