My Ride: 2005 Jet Black 545i w/ sport pkg, nav, HUD

My friend has a 2007 550i that has tpms but did not have the sensors in the wheels when he bought the car. I bought him some used sensors from a member and he had them installed. Indy shop said it was the wron part#, but from my research...the sensors all have the same frequency. Anyway, the car won't recognize the sensors. Here are my questions:

Is there any special programming other than the idrive setup that is required?

Is there any way to test the sensors(I saw on motorweek Goss's garage...he had a hand held sensor detector and programmer)?

Thanks,
Will

I had OEM TPMS installed on my extra set of wheels and I did not require any dealer action. They were instantly recognized and calibrated with iDrive. I suspect that the incorrect TPMS was installed. They surely "fit" in the wheel but if not the proper frequency I doubt dealer programming will be any help!
