Tore the rubber seal on top of the door... What now?
#1
Hi all,
Please see the pics below. A neighbor kid shut the door while her umbrella was still out and it tore the rubber seal.
Is there a DIY that is recommended for this? Or, a replacement part? Trip to the dealer $$?
Any help, links or info is appreciated.

Make the neighbor pay for it
I think you need a new seal...

No missing pieces, and it does fit back together nice.

Try crazy glue if it's such a clean tear, it might just do the trick and save you some $$$! If not, you could always repair it then!

I don't know about that... Since the tear is at the top of the door, I wouldn't risk it now with the summer rain in Florida.

My Ride: I have an 05 545i. It's a manual with a few options. This is my first BMW but I don't know how I'll ever be able to switch to something else.
I like the tire patch idea; look for some sort of rubber glue that will provide a water-tight seal. It'll probably work for a while, but you will have to eventually replace it.
