I reviewed the above description of the Active steering and Servotronic assist. I saw no details about Servotronic servicing.
My interest is to reduce the degree of assist on the steering, perhaps by adjusting a valve, so more feedback could be felt at the wheel. I want in no way to influence the AS. Ultimately, I would like to be able to feel the wheel return back to center while pulling out of a turn. Only 2 things that I know can affect that; the assist is too high and the wheel alignment (toe in) is too parallel. I realize such a setting may provide the best gas mileage and tire wear, but a small tweak, if possible, shouldn't affect mileage much if at all and wheel feel will improve. Straight line stability should be improved too. Yes?
The airbag switch recall will send me to the service department prematurely and I can discuss this topic intelligently then.
