suicide doors

Just spotted those carpets in that RR, they are awful, they look like something my Nan has round her toilet!

I don't get it - theres a logic to these doors on the RX8 cause there is no central pillar.

But on a traditional saloon - it's just a gimmick surely.

And as for the RR carpets - my used to have these round the toilet, but changed them cause they were not trendy enough.

Not really. On a Rolls Royce, they make perfect sense. Suicide rear doors make it much easier to get in or out of the back seat. The downside is that once you're in, they're harder to close. With the Rolls, that's not a problem because you're supposed to have someone else close the door for you...

I think the suicide doors look awesome on the Phantom, but I wouldn't put them on a 5 series. Maybe a 7 series, but I really wouldn't put them on any BMW. If you want to do something purely cosmetic I'd go with a unique body kit or two tone interior.
