Hi all,

I just replaced my old chrome trims with ditto black ones - Shadow Line:

It's quite easy. The only thing is that you have to be careful about is not to scratch neither the new trims nor the paint / existing trims.
OK, first of all I started with the left front door.

Remove the rubber seal.

Here we go, gently hammer the trim step by step. Check were the clips are and hit it right there.

I wrongly began removing it at the end of the door frame. If you do as I did, the end of the trim has to be bent out! You should begin at the mirror and work your way out until the end!

I made some safety precursions as I didn't want the trim to fall down and scratch the paint!

The trim is only mounted with clips. Nothing else, exept the seal, has to be removed.
Here we go, first one removed.

After that the upper trim has been removed, continue with the lower one. Use the hammer and hit it at the end and the trim will loosen. When you have enough room just grab it by your hands and pull it gently upwards.

Be careful so that the end of the trim doesen't press against the paint! I put some extra layers of tape for protection.

Use the same procedure as for the front ones. Begin with the lower one as it blocks the upper trim!

Removed rear upper trim.

Now it's time to mount the new Shadow Line trims.

Simply press the upper ones with your bare hands onto the door frame, front and rear. Remember to mount the upper rear door trim first as the lower one blocks it!

For the lower trims you need to use a wooden piece wrapped in a cloth so we doesn't damage the new trims. Begin in one end (for the front door you have to insert it a bit under the rubber seal that surrounds the mirror frame). Hammer it down carefully until it hits the bottom. Remember to close the doors as this gives the necesarry support when hammering.

The seal has to be somewhat adjusted, use as small screewdriver and carefully flip it out.

Finished!!

Great diy and manual mate!!!! But the hard thing you did not change; the trim in the middle. I?m concidering changing to shadow "hochglanz" so the middle trim you left (because it is already normal shadow )must also be changed.
I understood that there were some screws...but a pictured manual like your?s would be great.

Thanks.

I no nothing about any screews. The "Hochglanz" is a bit more work I presume. All the vertical tirms and the mirror frames has to be replaced.
