So just to confirm, if I install the dension and I have a 6 disc cd changer and a single slot that plays MP-3's, I won't need to take it to the dealer to have the IPOD option enabled. And if I do have to go, how much should I expect to pay?

If you have CDC and mp3 enabled, you're sorted.

Bruce, mp3 enable is not a requirement... members nigxdoof & nelson29 got their GW500 while their M-ASK isn't mp3 capable.

Thumbs down

On the 7th pic from the top of the first page where you split the cdc connector in two, did you buy the other piece or did you take the optical connector from the dension package? If you did get it from the dension package, where does it utlimatly connect to. as you can see, I am a little stumped.

all the parts come with the package, but in the instructions that came with it and also the new pdf above, it looks like you dont need to split the optics, the car cable optics goes directly into the dension then another optics cable comes out the dension directly into the cdc

ill try this route later today hehe

??
Erased mp3 by the fucking dealer some months ago and Dension didn't work anymore. Some days ago I removed it and I'll install it again once the car will be mp3 capable.

Ok, now this is starting to make sense. U separare optical connection from plug that is unplugged from the CDC, then plug one side of the Dension supplied optical into the optical connection that came out of the CDC changer plug and the other side directly into the Dension unit- "car", right? Then u connect another optical directly from the CDC to the Dension unit- "CDC", right? Last, u tap into the CDC's power (red) and ground (brown), right?

Much thanks.
