A while ago i asked of a picture of what the storage space looked like on cars who had no spare tire, i got no respons so i orderede som parts and this is the result.

This is what it looks like under the carpet in the trunk on cars with a spare tires
Since i dont plan ever using that tire i decided to turn that space into a storage compartement instead.

Here the spare tire along with the jack and other parts is removed and the main storage part is put in place instead,
Removal of the panel above the battery is needed, the right corner of the compartment goes under that.
The compartment also goes under the plastic cover in very rear of the trunk, you will notice once you get there.

And this is the end result;

Partnumbers needed;

1 x 51477071698 the compartement itself
1 x 51471930956 the white thingie on top of the bolt in the middle to keep the compartement above steady
1 x 51477132300 plastic fastener that connects to the middle bolt
4 x 51477076688 plastic walls that connects to the outsides of the compartement and the plastic fastener above (not needed unless you want to devide the compartement, none needed and maximum is four)
1 x 07129905185 nut that secures the plastic fastener

I hope someone someday will have any use for this post, if not then at least i have some extra storage space in the car

Good post tsaros. I had no idea these parts existed. I have had three E60s with RFTs and they ALL had spares and jacks in the trunk.

be careful about putting liquid material in that area since there are some computer modules back there, if damaged by water, will be costly. A member at the other forum had to replace some modules in the trunk area due to spilling water, I believe his repair bill was in the $ 1k+.

All US E60`s had a spare wheel not matter what tyres were fitted, in Europe the spare was optional.
