I have some damage on this black piece.



Anyone know how to remove the damaged piece and how to install a new one?


Is #7 the correct part I need to buy? I have US Sport Pack so no High Gloss Shadowline, so its the $18.41 right? For the driver's side, would it be Left or Right side?

 

Good question. I don't think I'm seeing the part you need. I think you are correct that number 7 in the diagram is the right one but after looking for it on the table of parts, it's hard to figure out which one's the black one. I clearly see the high-gloss black ones (GLANZSCHWARZ) but since you have the sport package, I assume you have the low-gloss black trim. The only other listing for part number 7 does not show a color at all. You need one that says SCHWARZ if you have the black trim (CHROM if you have the chrome trim).

One thing is for sure, the driver's side on a US car is considered "left". Also, I think the only way to remove that part is to completely remove the interior door trim panel first, which can be a little complicated...

 

May I make a simple suggestion. Bimmian sells carbon fiber door pillar laminates. The entire set is $60 and I love the way it loks on my car. if you search the general forum there are pictures of it there.
