My Ride: BMW E61, Nov-2005. M-steering wheel +sport seats. Panoramic roof, Lighting package, Xenon, Adaptive headlights, Prof. navigation, CD changer, Voice control, Bluetooth, Heated seats, 128 alloys -18 inch, B&W Tuning (hounslow)
Dear All
I'm trying to replace the airfilter on my 525d Nov-05.
I've searched the forum and I could only find the airfilter replacement for the engines which have the air filter at the front of the engine bay (mine is a more tubular filter somewhere hidden in the rear of the bay)
Can anyone help me with a work instruction (preferably with pictures )
Thanks!

Make sure you have a torx set to remove the strut, IIRC a male T45 required, and a flexi or extended knuckle joint to get the last allen screw out on the housing.

Great thanks!
How strange that it's so much work to remove such a standard Service item.
Oh well I'll give it a try this weekend
Thanks again

As above, + the air filter is in exactly the same position as the 530d as shown, I changed mine on my 05 525d in the summer.
