Question: can I jack the rear end up using the bottom of the spare tire well? I noticed that the rear bumper frame is partially welded to it, so i'm assuming that this might be part of the body structure, and hopefully strong enough to handle the weight of the car. On my Acura RL, the rear tow hook is actually welded to the spare tire well, and I use it to jack that car up all the time with no problems.

yeah, I read that one, dosen't really help, as I understand it, jacking a car with an independant suspension by the differential could cause some expensive damage, and most of the rest of the cars rear structure is aluminum EXCEPT for the spare tire well, which is why I asked about using it.
Thanx anyway.

Sounds too risky to me--too much potential downside for how much gain? I'd just do one wheel at a time using the designated jack points. But, that's just me--afraid to botch something and then kick myself for a week.

Definately +1 on that, I haven't a trial-n-error bone in my body when it comes to my "60", problem is if I need to raise the entire car, I'll have to leave the jack points by the wheels free in order to put them on jack stands. At least in the front you have the cross-member available for jacking, and then you can put the stands under the jack points by the front wheels, but I don't see anything similarly structural that I can use in the back.
