I know this is an old thread but I'd never be able to install my Redline if not for this thread.
Thank you Don Juan.

Im trying to hardwire my escort 9500i to my 2008 535i. I have gone through all the wires and the green/yellow wire is not working. I even stripped some of it and put the wire directly on it to see if it would work and it didnt. The only wire that works is the red wire but the radar stays on even when the car is off. I attached a picture of the green/yellow wire that I used and did not work. please if anyone can think of why its not working let me know. thanks.

you are tapping the wrong green yellow wire, you need to get the one out of the bundle right behind the one you are working with in your picture

Okay, I tried to install this for over an hour last night, in a rather dimly lit garage. I was over confidant since I have installed this remote V1 system previously in my 1998 740iL, my 2001 M5, and 2006 530iXT. Those cars have gone on to other owners (minus the M5), and I have a post LCI, 2010 535iXT.

I was really surprised when I popped off the square ceiling cover, the green with yellow wire was right there, up front, easy to say and manipulate. I immediately tapped into it, looked for a ground and was disappointed that it did not work. I ran a set of jumper cables to a ground under the hood (I like to restrict the factors of concern), still no joy. I put the mutimeter probe into the blue connector and got intermittent readings. I removed the plastic cover exposing the metal prongs and tweaked the connections to insure I had a good connection. Hooray, it worked...as far as power went. Now when ever I turned on the V1, the moonroof would open/close. So.... never experienced that before.

I went inside, had a couple of chilled vodkas, thought about it and slept on it.

This morning I went out with better lighting and found a green with yellow wire (the yellow is so faint, it actually looks like a glare/shine on the green wire) in the OTHER wiring bundle. HINT: look for the wiring bundle that has the dashes on some of the wires, along with single and multi-lined ones. Basically, it is almost like looking for a green wire that "might" have a yellow line.

Redid the connector, (I used a pair of needle nose pliers with the blue connector open and the wire placed in correct splice position, then squeeze until I see good contact through the plastic coating. Checked out operation, good switched on/off and no apparent conflict.

(BTW - invest in some real interior/upholstery tools. The tools make the job a LOT easier, and less stressing. A side benefit is protecting those little pressure connectors. My M5 has been with me for a decade plus, so I have gone into that cluster many times.

As a follow up, although I previously had the Jaric Designs Stealth One (V1S1) in the M5 and 740iL, the current BUS system in the 2010 is not supported by S1. SO... Valentine has something interesting ANDROID-V1connection, the V1 Connection allows the V1 signal (and MORE) to show up on your paired android or iPhone smart phones.

Since I just emplaced the remote power, it is real easy to install the V1 connection to the AUX RJ11 connector, and emplave in the same location along with your remote power for V1. I'm going to try it with YAVA (Yet Another Valentine App) vice the Valentine App. App Reviews show YAVA and being more stable, and having better features, including the option to turn off alarms under a certain limit. Good for guys like me that live in small neighborhoods with a very predominant police force and basically cannot EVER speed without a 50/50 chance of being hit by radar. So everyone drives 25mph..
