Thumbs up

Disassembled the breaks and rotos and painted the rusty bits (that write up will show up in the DIY section soon) but I had a question on the breaks.

When we took everything apart we took apart everything short of removing the main caliper component attached to the break line (ie no break in hydroilic pressure) cleaned, sanded, primed, and finally painted.

Is there any concern toward not bleeding when putting everything back?

I have no alrts, was able top pump the breaks right back up to proper pressure and everything seems fine. Any experts share this comfort level I have or is there reason for concern?

This is an 06 530i with no sport package. Thanks in advance!

Aaaanndd does anyone know if you need to break in brake pads when removed and reinserted?

I'm certainly no expert but I wouldn't think you need to bleed the system since you didn't loosen any lines or fittings. Especially since you still have good pedal.
Since you didn't change any parts and have no new surfaces on pads or rotors "bedding in" shouldn't be necessary.
Zeckhausen has good technical info if you're interested.

Rusty rotors and dingy calipers are such an eyesore. I'm surprised BMW lacks attentention to this detail.
Great job on the DIY! Lookin' good

The only time you have to bleed the brakes is when you get air into the break lines. Since you didn't interfere with the break lines its not necessary.

There is no wear in period for new brake pads or rotors.
