I just ordered a Nav Pro retrofit 'kit' that should arrive in a week or so. I have also been following this thread, but hadn't read the success story until now. I was getting nervous that I may have wasted my money, but now I am relieved. Thanks for making this thread!! My install saga will undoubtedly be reported here.

Another navi professional retrofit using 2nd hand parts happily done! I bought the CCC-unit and monitor from a Lithuanian fleebayer "naviandbmwparts" and the iDrive controller high from a German fleebayer "m-style-3-2-1-deins". A couple of pointers:
- There are two versions of the BMW instructions hanging around on this board. The earlier one from 2004 does not describe correctly what has to be done for cars post 9/2005. An extra wire (dubbed "W" in the 2005 instructions) must be wired between the iDrive controller high and the menu/speech button. The part number for the wire is 61 12 0 412 739
- The GPS-antenna connector is of the type FAKRA
- Cars without any navigation might have neither the connector "X13813" nor the "X13814". I got one "X13813" with the ccc-fan-harness and another with the AUX-retrofit kit. It's very much alike the X13814, only one plastic tab needs to be removed so trying to find "X13814" somewhere is not necessary when also fitting the AUX (the AUX and fan harness go to X13813 and the MIC goes to 13814)
- 1st go to dealer for full update of the ECU/CAS and everything else, then retrofit, then Satnav retrofit path at the dealer. Don't be skimpy by trying to save some 150e and not first updating the car. The dealer forced me to buy a 350 euro activation code (from Munich) for the speech recognition by the way.
- Other stuff that might be necessary: the mic is 84 31 6 938 762, the mic harness is 61 12 0 396 159, the AUX retrofit kit is 65 12 0 153 502, the CCC fan harness is 61 12 0 396 722, the new dual button for iDrive is 65 82 6 921 669, the new centre console bezel, colour titanium-II, is 51 45 6 951 041
- Necessary tools include: several bits for opening bolts (4.5 mm and one other that I don't remember), torxes T9, T25, T27, phillips screwdriver, a sturdy plastic-end/metallic-handle spatula from IKEA to lift things![Wink](https://5series.net/forums/images/smilies/imported/wink.gif)
- The instructions from iCharles are very good (except that I also removed the handbrake gaiter to further lift the middle console): http://forums.e60.net/index.php?showtopic=...mp;#entry785503 Be sure to check out also this thread at another board for removing some of the plastic parts http://www.bimmerfest.com/forums/showthrea...p;highlight=aux
Now I still need to see if my mosfet-lci-rear-light adapters work after the progman-update

Mja,
did you buy OEM sharkfin antenna or an aftermarket antenna?
Where did you mount the antenna and how hard was it to run antenna wires?
