what a drama..
just finnished off fitting the M5 SMG paddle shift steering wheel and air bag to my non sport car.
thanks to fred on here i got the parts needed and clear instructions, the aggro was in removing all the hard rubber from the M5 wheel (at the bottom behind the m badge) to house the old steering wheel brains, but 1 sliced leg later its on.
it was more difficult than installing a pro nav, but only because as well as removing the dash/CCC etc, the gubbins behind the steering wheel is complex
one thing that struck me though is both steering wheels...the old hex non sport one and the new round M sport ones are exactly the same once you strip them down, the old hex trim fitted perfectly on the M5 round wheel, its just covers that give it its shape. (parts bin saving money)
ill post pics when im up and running.
regards
david.
