My employer had a car kit fitted for my Nokia phone. This is not the BMW kit, but the aftermarket Nokia kit. Anyway the cradle is mounted on a Brodit non-damage bracket at the far right of the central heater vents on my RHD 520d. Unfortunately this is too close to the steering wheel and I keep banging it with my hand when I use the indicators, cruise control or bring my hand back from the gear shift.
I have obtained a different Brodit bracket which goes on the far left of the central vents and so need to relocate the cables to that side of the heater controls. The cables currently exit the dash between the heater panel and the panel just to the right of this which goes up to the steering column.
Can anyone help me work out how to remove either the heater controls or the trim on either side of it so I can move the kit?
Also if I remove the radio controls will I cause any errors to be recorded on the computer?
Thanks

Thanks - I had been searching in the wrong places looking for the information.
The whole carphone fit took just over 30 mins so I'm amazed if he took off the trim strips and heater vents - I assumed he had just removed the heater control panel which is where the cables exit the dashboard.
Is it possible there is a quicker way for him to have routed the cables to exit at the side of the heater controls?
Thanks
Steve

To take those strips and vents off is a 5 minutes job. Putting them back is 1 minute (snap-on); the heater control is locked in by all those + bolts and clips, so I doubt it's been taken off at all.
