Ok i'm a bit confused here...i just bought a touch up kit from the dealer cuz i need to cover some small rock dents, and a larger surface like a 2 finger zone where someone scratched the back bumper, and well i got confused on how to apply it. The package contins 2 small bottles: a clear lacquer paint stick and a basecoat (the one with the paint) stick. Now how do i apply them ? Which one 1st? How much time till i apply the 2nd one? Any more adivce?
Thanx!

I think the dealer has to print the instruction sheet from the computer for you.
I bought a bumper protector and there was a sticker on the box telling me this. When I went back and asked for them the instructions were good.

That touch up kit is rubbish. Unless you just need to touch up a small chip its useless. If you have an airbrush, you can thin the paint that comes in the color bottle, and spray it on, but how many people ave an airbrush just laying around....

That is my experience, too. However, small spots look better with touch up than no touch up. IMO.
At first you have to wash and dry the surface, then apply the color as flat as you can and after 20-30 minutes (it depends on the temperature) apply the 1st clearcoat layer (wait 20-30 minutes for the second layer etc until the scratched area fill-up to the level of the cars clearcoat, or more. The next day you must rub the repaired area and around with a type 2500 sand paper until it comes flat and then polish the area 3-4 times. It will be much better than now, for sure.

Shake the bottle with your left hand and apply with your right. If you shake the bottle and apply with only right hand your hand will not be steady when you apply the paint. Also, apply the base coat first. Wait a hour or so before applying the clearcoat.
EDIT: Nick has much better directions on applying the paint and clearcoat. Still, remember shake left and apply right.
