Hi,

I have 2004 E60 545i with Business NAV, and I'd like to know if the upgrade to Professional will require any components replacements, or it can be done through a software upgrade only ?

The reason of my question is that I have seen in one of BMW E60 catalogs - I can't recall the model year- a 6.5" monitor showing only maps without arrows.

Have any one here managed to get maps on 6.5" monitor NAV?

2d maps were added to the business nav from 2007 but its not possible to add it to the previous version.

as for retrofitting pro nav that's very possible, many members on here have done it and NavTVman can do it for a good price

to honest im not to sure but considering the unit itself, i would think they may have changed the hardware in some way or there would have been a software retrofit for it

It's a hardware issue. Business Navigation unit (M-ASK) has been completely updated to LCI cars (3/2007->). We have had some discussion is it possible install LCI M-ASK to older e60, but I have not heard any real experiences.

i guess theres no reason why the 2007 m-ask unit wouldn't work in an older e60, should be a straight swap i would have thought
