You can do it yourself, but I took the easy way out. Even so, the shop I used took about an hour and a half. Good thing I got an estimate first. IIRC, there is some drilling and pop rivets involved. Much easier if you belong to a club that has DIY days.

It took my buddy a couple of hours to install since we swapped out the stock rims/tires at the same time. We needed to jack up the front anyways to drill the one bottom hole.

Only one or two screws went into existing holes, the rest had to be drilled. It was nerve wracking to see the bottom plastic rocker panel being drilled. My buddy removed the original rivets by simply drilling out the rivet centers. For the front mud flaps he ended up trimming off the little notch (first one while already installed, second one before mounting which was much easier). The notch helps line up the front mud flap between the two panels but it was a cleaner and flusher fit after trimming the notch.

I like the way they contour around the wheel well and you barely notice them on my Monaco Blue.

Thanks to the person who posted the step by step instructions on an earlier thread.

I had the dealer put mine on. It took three guys about two hours which included lots of head scratching. They had to remove the liners and it looked very involved. They only charged me $100 so I figured it was money well spent for the amount of manpower involved. They had to take the wheels off, remove the wheel liners, drill them, insert new rivets, reassemble. The mechanic came over and apologized for what should have been a quick deal. He said the wrong hardware was in the package from the parts department.

Has to make you wonder why they aren't factory-fitted before the wheels go on. Would cost next to nothing and win friends.

Some critics say they look ugly. I say the mud flaps are very subtle and do not detract from the lines of the car at all. After driving in a muddy area recently, I got on pavement. A friend following said I slung off a lot of mud when we got to the pavement. I knew it because I could hear it coming off. I asked him if any of it had hit his vehicle since he was following closely. He said no. Neither was there any mud on my paint.
