I can see that you take care of your car. For a 2004, the internal parts look new!

Good job, I gave up on trying to pull out the alternator mounting bracket once I realized it was attached to the motor mount. So far fixing the valve cover and timing chain cover has been enough on the front side, but there's more coming from the back of the engine

Well yesterday I did just the passenger upper timing cover without the valve cover gasket replacement. Hopefully that is all is needed.

LOL, Allen, you kill me. You can literally open a shop just to fix the N62 series engines.

Be very careful when you remove the the bolt that is holding the Power Steering Pump to the block. Make sure that you have the torx bit seated 100% on the bolt. If you strip the top and need a replacement, there is only 1 available in the country at the moment. I bought the other one yesterday because I stripped mine.

Thank you so much for the write-up. I am going to be doing this the next couple of weeks.

Take a deep breath and hunker down! This is not a walk in the park unless you are Allen who can do the gasket and the upper timing cover in an afternoon. LOL.

i just spent $500 fixing this at an independent shop. This was after the timing cover and valve covers being replaced separately. Hopefully this is the last leak from this stupid engine.

Allen, do you have to drain the engine oil before removing the alternator bracket? I'm a little confused about why there is a gasket there to begin with. Does oil circulate inside the alternator mount bracket?
