those are all 'ratio monitoring' codes, i.e. EGS is detecting slip in multiple clutch packs. how many miles are on your car? In the meantime, don't press your accelerator 'hard', you will send your transmission to the scrap yard.

Either your clutches are genuinely worn (less likely) or your valve body (Mechatronic) is malfunctioning.

Did you read through the first post in this thread in its entirety?

Yes, although I'd suspect worn solenoids before I dismantled the valve body and replaced accumulators, etc.

ANYTHING that is preventing proper fluid pressures and travel through the valve body can cause fault codes in EGS.

The mechatronics sleeve just started leaking on my '06 530i. So, I replaced it along with the bridge seal as well as the 4 tubular seals.

After putting back everything, I filled the trans with 5 qts of fluid. It wasn't enough (around 6 to 7 qts of fluid came out). So, I am short by about 1.5 qts. I will get another container tomorrow.

I am getting the "Trans Fault - Gear can be engaged without depressing brake"
4E87 - shiflock
P0982.

I am thinking of dropping the pan again tomorrow and rechecking the sleeve connection as well as the gear selector cable connection to the mechatronics.

Any suggestions?

Update:
Apparently, I didn't insert the sleeve far enough. I dropped the pan, removed the sleeve and reinserted with some persuation with a wooden dowel, it went in further than I had inserted last time around. I think it's because of the new o-rings on the sleeve, it didn't go in easily.

Anyway, I put everything back, filled the fluid, no more errors. Trans is engaging in DS mode. It's all good now.

yep, that's what I'd do.

I didn't have mine set properly when I first put my car back together. I realized my error before putting the car back on the road, so I wasn't getting any fault codes. Hopefully that's all it is for you. good luck.
