i think it's a great DYI project. just grab a buddy (or a girlfriend with vertical boobs) and you're good to go..

no worries.. it's cool ... different strokes for different fokes..
i actually prefer the 3M carbon over the real stuff. the texture and feel is actually very nice. the matte finish is also easier on the eye the regular glossy carbon fiber. plus it's a heck lot cheaper and easier to work with.
about 5 years ago, i wrapp a sportbike in real carbon.. took me over 100 hours! laying real fiberglass is a PITA and i never did it again. if i had to do it again, i'd definitely just wrap it in vinyl. personally, i don't think one is really 'better' than the other.
... can't believe i still have a picture of that bike on my computer...
