Hello fellas, I have a 2008 528i with no CD changer in my glovebox however I do see the empty white cage where it should go. I don't see the wires/plug for the CD changer either. Are the plugs/wires hidden somewhere or do I need to get the cables from the dealer and plug them into the back of the radio/display unit?

Here's some pics of the install. I think they are pretty self explanatory except that the CD-Changer screws don't come out. They just loosen and then permits you to pull the unit out. I fixed the iPod interface with the supplied cable ties. No drilling no nothing. Plug n Play.
PM me if you want the BMW service bulletin that will permit you to get the mp3 retrofit done for free, which enables you to play MP3 CD's or use the iPod interface. Or if you want the official BMW ipod interface installation instructions. I will be upgrading to CarPlay but in the meantime would be interested in information. Thank you |
