I have to remove the DME, because my dealership reflashed it with the BMW remap .
Next week I'll go to remap another car so I will bring with me the DME of my E60.
Any hint ?
I know there is under the windshield (passenger side), but never done before.
Thanks!

The following document may help you out (I wasn't sure of your year or production date...)

Mh, thanks Rudy!
Is it really necessary to disconnect the battery? Let me imagine.. If I don't disconnect it I will find an error, right?

(There may be a risk of damage to the electronics if you disconnect something while energized, right?)

Don't know but why take a chance? Just disconnect the battery...

Rudy, in my '01 e38 740 it was necessary that the car be completely "asleep" [ignition off for 5 minutes] before disconnecting the battery? Is this a requirement on the newer BMW models?
The key to doing this would be to leave the trunk open while the car is still awake so that you can get to the battery without waking the car up again...

The problem is that I don't exactly know how... Do I have to remove the right carpet in the boot?
