The only other question is: is the black paint glossy or flat? Was that painted on or sprayed?

The caliper spray paint does not specify the finish but I would say the finish is semi-gloss. I sprayed it on without taking off the wheels. It looks like they were painted but the key on this job is not to hurry and allow every paint coat to dry before you apply the other coats. I recommend 3 coats at least but 5 is better.

Yeah, just about; the weather condition may be time factor. The paint really dries quickly, but you may try to touch an invisible area such as behind the caliper for the first time to see if it is dry and you go from there.

How difficult is it to replace the brake pad cover that is $11.00 bucks?
