Do you have a picture of the cradle you're talking about and where you want to put it? I'm not sure if I get what you're trying to do. But either way, in order to get to behind the radio, you have to take off the piece of trim that runs all the way accross your dash, then you have to take off the cover that goes over your radio, then you have to pull out the radio. You may want to ask Rudy for the TIS documents, I'm sure they would help.

"Radio" is a pretty generic term these days. In the E60, there are modules all over the place that all go together to make the "radio" work.
There are many here who have some pretty extensive knowledge about adding accessories to the stereo system of the car -- hopefully you'll be able to figure out exactly what you're trying to tap into...
