HID FOG LAMP KIT 9006 HB

I have done a search on this subject and found tons of information and noticed some people get a warning on the iDrive if they switched to HID KIT and some dont. No one really explained why, I think someone mentioned the HID kit was 35 W ballast and the OEM is 55W, so technically If one installs a 55W ballast HID Kit they should be fine with the system not showing ERROR and would not need a extra "bypass" ?

Also if I install 9000K HID bulb for the foglight will the extra heat create any problem for the oem casing? I will probably stick to 6500K then. Too much watt makes the light too BLUE and less bright anyways....

I think the reason why some people get the message and some don't is because the kits that they buy. Some kits have extra circuits in the ballast that send a "trick signal" back to the car diagnostics that everything is fine. Other kits that do not have this will be caught by the diagnostics that there's only 35W instead of 55W, so the warning will be triggered. Sorry, this is as much detail as I know. But if you contact the seller of whichever kit you're looking at, they'll say that they have this or not.
