My Ride: 04 545i
Bay Area, CA 04 545i sport package..
I am in the middle of a brake pad and rotor replacement. I have already replaced the front pads and rotors. The front rotors came off OK with some banging on the sides. However these DAMN rear rotors wont budge and now the sun has set....man I am frustrated.
The hand brake is off I have banged the crap out of the rotor and nothing.
What am I missing here? Are the emergency brake shoes some how stuck or something?
Some one PLEASE help.
THANKS!

After removing hex bolt, use rubber mallet (Edit: and a length of 4x2 wood) and hit (wood resting at) 4 places on rotor (0, 180, 270, and 90 degree pos)
Continue hitting but don't use brute force, just enough to break it free
Good luck and use anti-seize compound when installing rotors, rims, or wheel spacers.

In addition to the advice above, I assume you are working from the .pdf instructions I linked you to a few days ago...
(Don't bang the crap out of them -- you can do more damage than good!)

Just replaced mine and make sure the emergency brake is off, the pads line the inside of the rotor and will hold on to them.
Once that is off spray the center with pcb wait a min or two then from the rear at the opening of the shield wack and then spin.
Dont go to crazy as you don't want to damage anything but a good dead blow hammer will do the trick
